Performance scores for a vendor are a core attribute of your vendor relationship management in Felix. Capturing the performance of vendors throughout tenders, projects, and engagements and then using that data to inform future sourcing decisions or manage supplier relationships, is a key value driver in Felix. Performance scores are visible throughout Felix such as the vendor list, vendor profiles, and RFQ interactions. Performance scores are generated using Evaluations in Felix.
Evaluations, however, can also be used to score RFQ responses, allowing for a side-by-side comparison of RFQ responses from vendors, using a templated evaluation format. These evaluations are also a good data point when discussing historical win/loss performance with vendors for them to improve for future opportunities.
You can evaluate Felix on the following subjects:
- Evaluating a vendor directly is typically used to perform periodic/programmatic or milestone-driven vendor evaluations as part of a supplier management program. The templates used are typically also linked to impact vendor performance scores in Felix.
- Evaluating RFQs generates side-by-side comparisons of vendors' (bidders') responses for use in evaluating the successful or shortlisted bidders. Your assigned users can evaluate vendors' responses based on what was submitted in the RFQ and this score is additionally visible within the Recommendation for Award (RFA) workflow for approvers.
- When evaluating an RFQ, the quality of the RFQ response is being evaluated and not the performance of the vendor. You can, however, choose to have these evaluations contribute to vendor performance scores.
- When evaluating an engagement, the vendor's performance in delivering the scope of work on the engagement is being evaluated. This is a similar idea to assessing vendor performance above, however, a connection to the engagement in Felix is also maintained.
To get started evaluating vendors, RFQs or engagements, you need to first create an evaluation template and then assign it to some evaluation assignees.
Evaluations are performed using a set of questions which in Felix are stored in a template. Templates group questions into criteria, and each criterion has a weighting that adds up to a possible 100% score. Your organisation can maintain any number of templates for different purposes such as regular vendor performance check-ups and RFQ assessments.
Evaluation templates can also be configured to contribute to vendor performance scores or not.

Once you have at least one template created in Felix, you are ready to assign users to perform evaluations.
To initiate an evaluation, you can choose the relevant template based on the type of evaluation needed and assign the task to designated staff users. This process is referred to as Evaluation Assignments.
Multiple staff users can be assigned evaluations, and they are referred to as Evaluation Assignees.
Felix also gives you the option to select an Assignment Chair for each assignment. The Assignment Chair will have full visibility of all the tasks of the individuals that they are overseeing for that evaluation. They are not able to perform or complete someone else's task, however, can also be assigned to evaluate in addition to being the chair.
A common use of the Assignment Chair is to make this the RFQ Owner (for an RFQ evaluation) so they can oversee the progress of the RFQ through to the final decision. In the case of direct vendor evaluations, this might be the supplier management process owner who needs to keep on top of all evaluations that need to be performed in the business.
